See Obama can take hope from a favourite author.
During his presidential campaign almost a year ago, Barack Obama cited his two favourite authors. One was Shakespeare. The other was E.L. Doctorow.
The President may be pleased to know that a musical adaptation of Doctorow’s novel, Ragtime, is being revived on Broadway this week. It derives from a production first shown in May at the Kennedy Centre, just a few blocks away from the White House.

Era of Obama? Really? He’s already all but a lame-duck here in the states (thank the various Gods for this great luck, btw). Are people from other countries ACTUALLY calling this the ‘era of obama’?

No, not making it up. The point of the entry anyway was just to congratulate a friend for his first publication in one of Australia’s top newspapers.

True, the health care bill passed the HoR, despite majority disapproval from the people (time-graph). But sadly the Democrats can disregard what the people want right now, because there’s so damned many of them in the house right now. The Senate is another matter. There’s a lot of Dems, but most want to keep their jobs and will not sacrifice them over this horrid bill.
Don’t give up on America just yet. We still may stop this awful bill from becoming law. I’ll be honest with you though. I’m scared. Even though America has turned against the messiah (Obama), we may lose this thing and end up with a European-style health care where people are not given treatment if the government wills it. We may lose a SERIOUS competitive edge (awesome health care) if this bill passes. It’s quite scary.
Despite what NGOs say, we have the absolute best health care on the planet for anyone who’s willing to pay for it. You probably know that this is true, but I understand if you are unable or unwilling to write such a statement, since it assaults your liberal senses to admit such a thing. And of course, praising American exceptionalism is anathema to liberals. No worries! I know you know it, so there’s no reason to mention it. You can even disagree in type, and I’ll still know you know it
