Michael Moran – Beyond the Coral Sea

06 Jun

I am reading this fascinating book about places I have heard of all my life but really knew very little about. Just now I read a description of what people involved in the Battle of Milne Bay actually saw. It is too hideous to recount here, but ties in with things I heard about my uncle.

Not yet 21, he was among the first to land during those battles, being a signaller seconded from the RAAF. What I read today he would have seen.

I don’t know how one could survive sights like that.
