Muslim rage burns in our backyard – Lord, help thou our unbelief, and let it thrive.

Yes, Miranda again. Today she doesn’t know who to hate more: “radical secularists” or “Muslim male rage.” Why should wishing not to believe Group X’s fetishes and impossible things mean uncritically accepting the fetishes and impossible things we happen to have been born into?

And speaking of impossible things: while Mormons may be the salt of the earth personally, their religion is founded on a massive fraud called the Book of Mormon. This is a shame, but no one can seriously doubt it. The Book of Mormon is about as authentic as a holy text as the writing on a cornflakes packet. Mark Twain said as much a century ago, and he was right. So the story in today’s Sydney Morning Herald is not at all surprising: any honest scientist would be hard pressed to find any truth in the Book of Mormon, aside from its banalities and truisms, or passages lifted from the more reputable sacred texts of the world anyway.
