When I rang my Tasmanian brother on October 3, the day of his birthday, I promised some DVDs, which I have just sent. Black Hawk Down and The Colour of War: Anzacs, narrated by Russell Crowe, “a groundbreaking television series about Anzacs, which explores the bond between Australian and New Zealand soldiers during war.”

I have been reading Here I Stand: My Struggle for a Christianity of Integrity, Love & Equality, the autobiography of Bishop John Shelby Spong (Harper Collins pb 2001). I find it fascinating and inspiring, though not without its faults. The review named above, however, is quite revealing about Sydney Anglican attitudes.
