I wasn’t a prefect…

But these people were.

Sydney Boys High Prefects 1959

Back Row: R J Wills, D K Sweeting, A Zaneff, E H Oliver, R G Byres, R J Evers, R S Dye
Middle row: T F Naughton, R J Smith, P W Shenstone, R D V King, J A Levi, I A Scott, G F Cohen, I J Stewart
Front row: J W Fuller, R W Strong, S R McGill (vice captain), E R Jeffrey Esq (deputy headmaster) W L Young (captain), K J Andrews Esq (headmaster), E R Sowey, I D Toll, R Scouller

Wayne Young later went on to join the Orange People, I believe. Roger Dye and Eric Sowey were among my particular friends at that time. Their ages ranged from 15 (E H Oliver) to 18/19 (T F Naughton). At the time I was 16. High school then finished in Year 11.

The photo gallery is a recent addition to the SBHS web site.

UPDATE 6 March 2008

One of those prefects, T F Naughton, has published his memories of the class of 1959 in the Old Boys Bulletin, the article itself not being available online. I had forgotten how many classes Terry and I shared!

An interesting view of SBHS today: High Flyer December 2007 (PDF).
